Welcome

Hello, I am Ms. Lauck and welcome to Elicarvicuar Elementary’s 2nd grade!

I set high expectations for my students because I believe they can achieve at much higher levels when they are challenged to do so. It is extremely rewarding to see the growth each student makes throughout the year and to see their excitement when they have met or exceeded their goals.

Before I became a teacher, I served in the military for 8 years. I have a Masters in elementary education from the University of South Florida. I have been teaching since 2013 and taught in Florida, my home state, until 2021. This is my fourth school year teaching here in St. Mary’s.

What makes Elicarvicuar Elementary a special place to work is that I get the opportunity to know students from the lower grade levels long before they are in second grade. By the time they are second graders, we are already very familiar with each other, which makes for an easier transition for everyone. I also love that I still get to see a lot of my students from previous school years. Teaching at much larger schools, you unfortunately don’t get to make those connections as much.

Our class is smaller this year with 11 students in total, 6 girls and 5 boys.
