Ms. Saavedra's 4th Grade Class
Welcome
As a teacher, I am committed to creating a learning community where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring ideas. I believe that every child has the potential to succeed, and that it's my job to help them reach their full potential. My goal is to inspire and empower my students to become lifelong learners and critical thinkers.
In 2004, I graduated from University of Texas at Dallas with a Bachelors of Arts. Later in 2022, I received a Masters Degree in Instructional Leadership from Sam Houston State University. For over 20 years, I have served in a variety of roles, and worked with students of all ages. Before taking my position in St. Mary’s, I taught 7th Grade math in Houston, Texas.
This is my second year teaching 4th grade in St. Mary’s. The community welcomed and inspired me in such a way that I came back for another year. I have two adult children, who I remain close to. When I am not teaching, I enjoy trying new recipes, exploring new places, and spending time with family.
Teaching in St. Mary’s is a pleasure. My personal favorite are the students. I love our students and look forward to showing up everyday. The community’s support and positive attitude toward staff creates a sense of belonging. St.Mary’s School hosts several community events such as the Mini-Potlatch and Fall Feed. The community, staff and students come together to prepare for these events. In addition we participate in relevant education trips such as the Annual High School Moose Hunting Trip. In fourth grade, we take an annual berry picking and manaqing trip.Classrooms are equipped with the latest technology which includes a laptop for each student. Lastly, the staff at St. Mary’s are enjoyable to work and collaborate with.
